Tuesday Tunes Day!

Two words: Steve. Moakler.

I've been obsessed with him since freshman year of college and recently rediscovered his new stuff. And I must say, Steve has been crankin' out some tunes since I last left him. Since he has so many good songs, I've decided that today you get to be a lucky duck and get TWO new songs! Wooooohoooo! I've also added a list at the bottom of the rest of his songs in case you fall madly in love with him like I have. So, your two songs for the day are "Turn Me Loose" and "Why We Said Goodbye."

"Turn Me Loose" is actually a song written by Blake Stratton and Steve. It's super dramatic and super heartwrenching (or at least I think so). Anyway, it's kind of a "I love you, but you can go jump off a cliff" kind of thing. It's good stuff :)
(I couldn't find an actual video of the orignal two artists, but there are a couple boys who did a remake of it and it's really not too bad.)

"Why We Said Goodbye" just has such a catchy beat it's hard not to tap along on the steering wheel. Also, it's got some KILLER lyrics in the first verse, which is what I guess I've come to expect from "my acoustic boys" as I like to call them. Just some very clever words that hit close to home :)

As usual, I've included the lyrics so you can be like me and sing along with them in the shower. Not that I do that. But I do. Sometimes. Well, most times actually. Anywho....enjoy!

"Turn Me Loose" by Blake Stratton and Steve Moakler
Lyrics:
Your ship set sail months ago
I didn't know that you had found someone at sea
When you returned, did you see
I was halfway to the ground on my knee
So don't expect a show

'Cause I don't care to hear about
Another young buck who is working out for you
What's the use?
And time was too shy to tell
I put too many dimes in that wishing well for you
Pull me out, cut me down, turn me loose

Pleasant, small talk conversation
Well, do you know
That I can see right through your smiles?
'Cause I've been under your spell,
Yeah, you know me too well
So don't try to make my acquaintance now

'Cause I don't care to hear about
Another young buck who is working out for you
What's the use?
And time was too shy to tell
I put too many dimes in that wishing well for you
Pull me out, cut me down, turn me loose

I don't know how to see you how you see me now
I don't know how to speak without screaming out
So please just keep your distance
Please don't say my name
'Cause I'm still living in your prison, girl
And your voice is the chain

"Why We Said Goodbye" by Steve Moakler
Lyrics:
Goodbye ay ay ay ay ay ay
Why we said goodbye
Bye ay ay ay ay ay ay
Why we said goodbye

I've never been one to make anything easy,
But if I bite my tongue while you're moving on,
Would your ghost ever leave me?
Did I speak too soon when I said goodbye?
Was I scared of love?
Is that what it was that you saw in my eyes?

Now that you're gone, the fact is fiction
Now that you're gone, I've lost my mind
Now that you're gone, I can't remember why we said goodbye ay ay ay ay ay
Ay
Why we said goodbye?
Why Ay ay ay ay ay ay ay
Why we said

Isn't that just life?
Ain't the grass so green on the other side, for you and I
Is that where we're supposed to be?
Now that you're gone, the fact is fiction
Now that you're gone, I've lost my mind
Now that you're gone, I can't remember why we said goodbye

Oh, we could give it one more try
Oh, I don't want to say goodbye
Now that you're gone, the fact is fiction
Now that you're gone, I've lost my mind
Now that you're gone, I can't remember why.......

Other songs by Steve (we're on a first name basis):
Thing About Us
Play You Down
Lifetime
Truth
Don't Have To Think Twice
