New Tunes Tuesday (Election Style!)

IT'S ELECTION DAY!!! Get up off your keister and VOTE! NOW!

In honor of Election Day, I have decided to write a poem about presidents. Actually no I haven't. But maybe you wish I did. ANYWAY.....today's post features a band I found last week on iTunes. From what I've been able to find, they aren't too well know yet, which makes them just PERFECT for New Tunes Tuesday! The name of the band is Striking Matches. It's made up of a guy and a girl (weird) and apparently they never even knew each other until college when a professor picked them at random to get up and perform a song in front of the class. And what do ya know? BFFs ever since (or at least I think so). Anyway, I really like their sound. There's a lot of male and female duos coming out these days, but a lot of them are more alternative and indie. These guys are the country version. I dig it. And you will, too!

ENJOY MY WONDERFUL LITTLE VOTERS! And God Bless America!

New Tunes Tuesday (On A Wednesday!)

It's Wednesday! (Yes, I know, it's supposed to be Tuesday.) But since today is HALLOWEEN and freaky stuff always happens, I figured I could still post this week's New Tunes Tuesday and everyone would survive. Well....maybe not everyone.

This week's blog goes out to a miraculous little man I have never heard of before (and I don't really think he's little). His name is Brent Anderson, born and raised in the hills of Mississippi (does Mississippi even have hills? For today, it does.) Anyway, I found him last week on iTunes when he released his debut album titled, "8 Track." It's very fitting considering there's only 8 songs. I listened to the first one, liked it, listened to the next one, liked it, and then, well, needless to say, I bought the whole album. And you should, too! Because it's wonderful. Really.

So enough with the fluff, I know you want the tunes. Today I picked 2 of my favorite songs out of his grand total of 8 (It was a very difficult choice. Don't you dare think for one second it wasn't!). The two songs for today are called, "Jesus in Japanese'" and "Amy." "Amy" is actually taken from part of the old song, "Aime" from Pure Prairie League. And in fact, two of the original members of Pure Prairie League are actually singing background vocals on this song for Brent. Pret-ty cool, huh? You'll dig it. Trust me. Also, ya'll should listen to, "I Could Use You," and "When She's Cryin.'" I would've posted videos, but I couldn't find them :( Sadness.

Hope everyone has a happy and safe Halloween! BOO!

Nashville Shananigans

JENAE!!! No Forest. Not Jennay. JENAE! CHERRY!

Last week I spent my wonderful fall break from law school down in Nashville, Tennessee. I know. You're jealous. But since I love you all so much, I brought the country back with me. And now, I shall share.

As it turns out, one of my lover boy's teammates was down visiting his brother at the exact. same. time. WHOA. Their OTHER brother and his lady friend came down and joined them as well. Needless to say, shit got crazy.

(The boys)

While the boys were hanging out, I was rocking out. To who you say? The lovely Miss Jenae Cherry! That's who! Another twist to this wonderful little story, my boyfriend's teammate's brother is actually DATING a girl who lives in Nashville and is trying to make it big. And boy oh boy oh boy, does girlfriend got it goin' on! (If you're confused, I made you a nice little storyline to help you out.)

Me (super cool, musically obsessed, law student) > Justin (my boy toy, super cute but super pain in my rear baseball player) > CLEVELAND INDIANS (don't get me started) > Brett (enemy turned friend, red-haired baseball player who, ironically, is dating a lawyer himself) > Brad (Brett's major league pitcher brother) > NASHVILLE (duh) > Jenae Cherry (super adorable, super AMAZING singer/songwriter from Wonder Lake, Illinois)

 (Aren't we cute?!)

It's all clear as mud now, right? Right. Anywho, enough with the shananigans. I know you're all waiting for some super cool new tunes because let's be honest, that's what New Tunes Tuesday is all about! So here it is folks.....some amazing original music from the lovely Jenae Cherry! I hope you enjoy this as much as I do! (And Brett likes it, too. Don't let him lie to you like that.) If you want to hear some more of her songs, she has an EP available on iTunes and ya'll should probably go check it out! Also, feel free to stalk her on Twitter (@jenaecherry). I know I do.

ENJOY MY LITTLE ONES!!

Don't Act Like You Didn't Miss This

It's Tuesday Tunes Day! And although you may have thought I fell off the face of the earth, unfortunately for you, I did not.

Today's lovely artist that I have chosen is Tristan Prettyman. She's been on the scene for quite some time now (dating back to my high school days), singing with the likes of Jason Mraz and G. Love, but I wanted to pick her for today because her new album came out and it is just BREATHTAKING. Classy and timeless. I think it's fantastic. For those of you who don't know who she is, you should be ashamed of yourselves. I've included one of her older songs that made me fall (Madly) in love with her music (pun intended) AND one of her new songs (Deepest Ocean Blue). So, after this, be prepared: you WILL be a fan!

Have a WONDERFUL day my dears! :)

Turn Your Party Lights On

It's NOT Tuesdayyyyyy!!!!! But I need to share some songs. Sorry I fell off the face of the earth. Then again, sorry I'm not sorry.

I made the most BOMB playlist last week for my travels back to the homeland, and I figured I should just give you a list so you can get your little heart started on making the SAME bomb playlist. No worries. You can thank me later (:

ENJOY MY LITTLE LOVE NUGGETS!

JS

Kristen Kelly--Ex-Old Man
(Seriously, any song that tells me there's a "damn good reason for this drink in my hand" is fine. by. me.)

Kelleigh Bannen--Sorry On the Rocks
(This chick literally JUST sent this song to radio! You should be hearing it soon! None of her music is for sale, though, yet, so calm your horses. I will obviously be the first one who knows when it does. Obvi.)

Katie Armiger--Better In A Black Dress
(I've loved her for a long time. She's not very well known on the radio, but maybe this will be her ticket to the big stage! P.S. This song is like, WAY badass.)

Florida Georgia Line--Cruise
(Literally can NOT stop singing this song!)

Chase Rice--Whoa
(I've just been told this is the best walkout song EVER. Apparently you need to start it at 31 seconds. Justin......you're welcome.)

Andy Gibson--Summer Back
(It's just cute. You'll like it. Trust me.)

Florida Georgia Line--Get Your Shine On
(And I quote: "You know I love it when you get your shineeeee onnnnnnnnn.....Summer sky drippin' rhinestones, turn your party lights on....." Obviously I ALWAYS have my party pants on. So why not turn my party lights on as well?)
(:

Tuesday Tunes Day

Jason Reeves has a new album out! So naturally this Tuesday Tunes Day goes to him. What a champ.

This song has been out on YouTube for awhile, but Jason's new album came out today and I like the studio version much better than the live piano version (sorry Jason). For those of you wondering who this guy is, he's awesome. And if you're from the IC area and STILL wondering, you need to get a life. And you should be very, very ashamed of yourself. No but really.

Jason Reeves is fantastic. One of my favorite acoustic boys. He's been on the music scene since my highschool days (god that seems SO long ago--seriously.). He's an Iowa City boy. Home grown and all. He sings with Colbie Caillat (now I KNOW you know who that is. If not, find a cliff--jump off it.) Anyway, Jason is out on the L.A. scene now and he's kickin' a$$ and takin' names. So of course, us IC girls gotta represent. The song I picked for you today is called, "You're My Best Friend," and it goes out to........my best friend. Naturally :) There's something so special about finding that person who knows you inside and out. Better than anyone else. Someone who will always be there for you no matter how much time has passed. Someone who always holds your heart.

And now I'm going to throw in my little disclaimer for the week, because really......what would a post be if I didn't get a little teary-eyed and sentimental? :)

A Few Fantabulous Rules To Live By:

1. Don't get so caught up in yourself that you forget to appreciate the ones you love the most. The people who can come into your life and truly change it for the better are few and far between, so don't ever take them for granted.
2. Never have too much pride to say 'I'm sorry.'
3. Never get too old to giggle like a little girl.
4. Never be afraid to stand up for what (or who) you believe in.
And 5. Don't spend your life waiting for the "perfect" moment. Always remember: Time waits for no one.

And a cute little quote to sum it all up:

"Life isn't perfect. But love doesn't care."

I hope you get to spend this wonderful week with some of the ones you love the most :) Until next time......

Jason Reeves--"You're My Best Friend"

Lyrics:
People wait all their lives to finally feel this way
It’s only once in a lifetime you give yourself away
‘Cause you’re my best friend
You’re my dream that came alive
You’re my reason
You’re my faith and you’re my fire
You’re my lover
You’re my angel in the night
You’re my sunrise
You’re the stars and I’m the sky
You’re my best friend
You’re my only love until the end
You’re my best friend
Words won’t say what you are so
I won’t even try
Suddenly I know I’ll love you ‘til the day I die

‘Cause you’re my best friend
You’re my dream that came alive
You’re my reason
You’re my faith and you’re my fire
You’re my lover
You’re my angel in the night
You’re my sunrise
You’re the stars and I’m the sky
You’re my best friend
You’re my only love until the end
You’re my best friend
You’re my best friend
You’re my best friend

Flying Through the Sky In A Big Airliner

Today is Tuesday. And I almost forgot. But boy oh boy oh boy do I have some good tunes for YOU!

Jenny got back on her acoustic kick (I have to be giving you whiplash with all my musical genres lately. Good news though! I think you'll be okay.) This week I stumbled upon some wonderful goodness. And I'm being serious. A couple years ago I found this guy by the name of Matthew McGinn. Turns out, him and this cute little girl got together and started a group called Caroline County. And now I'm obsessed. And soon, you will be too!

This first video is my favorite Matthew McGinn song. It's called "Better With You." This video is a little......odd. It's set to pictures and footage of Ellen Degeneres with her lover. So......it's safe to say it's a little awkward. But still, a good tune.

Matthew McGinn--Better With You

This next song is Matthew with his new lady friend, Julia Sheers (I don't think they're dating. But they probably should be.) Once again, these guys are called Caroline County. They have a bunch of remakes but also a few songs of their own. So I shall give you both :)

Caroline County--Kiss Me or Not

Julia Sheer--Airliner

And last but not least is my man Ross Copperman. I don't know if any of you discovered him a few years ago when he did his piano version of "Bleeding Love," but I fell head over heels. He's got some new songs out now and yep, you guessed it. I'm still in love. My favorite new song of his is called "Effortless," but of course, there's no video for it (but it is on iTunes). So for today you'll just have to settle for the video I could find. It's a song called "Holding On and Letting Go."Songs like this make me wish I was still on the bus late at night traveling for softball. Good thinking tunes :)

Ross Copperman--Holding On and Letting Go

I hope you enjoyed today's acoustic fantasticness! Have a lovely lovely week!

Let 'Em Talk Baby

Brantley. Gilbert. BRANTLEY GILBERT!!!!

So.....um....I saw Brantley Gilbert last week? After Jason Aldean and Eric Church, I think it's safe to say Brantley falls in at a solid 3 on my list of all time favorites. Country. Rocker. Badass. What more do you need? Anywho, he played us a couple songs he just wrote and hadn't played for anyone yet (or at least that's what they say). BUT....the songs....were BOMB. Naturally. I recorded one of them. Because I could just tell it was gonna be awesome. And it was. Duh. I had to work some magic to get the video transferred to my computer, but you should be thankful you can't actually SEE the video. You would probably get sick watching it. I was slightly....err.....under the influence. I even giggled at myself in the middle of it. Oh. And you'll have to excuse my loud yelling. People say I get it from my mom. I don't know what they're talking about.......

ANYWAY.....the song is called "You and Me Against the World." Or at least I think it is. Or at least that's what I'm calling it. Or at least I just wanted to say or at least again.

I think you'll like it. ENJOY!

JS

P.S. Brian Davis is singing with him. Just in case you're wondering why there are two manly voices. Baha.

True Life: I'm In Law School

You can just call me 'Jenny the 2L.' Or not.

I was going through my blog and found this draft that I never posted. Turns out, it's quite hilarious. Since the first year is over and all we can do now is laugh, I figured I'd post this bad boy and give you guys a little glimpse into the last 9 months of my life. It's HIGHLY entertaining. Enjoy!

JS

So one disastrous evening earlier this semester, one of my fellow classmates and I were having a lovely texting conversation about all the non-sense we've been doing since we started law school. Essentially, we are now utterly pathetic, find ourselves flipping shit at the drop of a hat, falling asleep in our chairs, and turning into substance abusers.

But on a much lighter note.....

The conversation turned into a stand up comedy show, with us throwing back and forth one liners that we would either A) Want to title a book or B) Want our MTV special of 'True Life' to be called. The following ensued:

1) True Life: I Just Woke Up In My Computer Chair and I'm Pretty Sure I Was Drooling.
2) Life Styles of the Poor and Sleep-Deprived.
3) True Life: We F#$%ing Suck.
4) True Life: I Drink Half Bottles of Wine Just to Get Through My Homework During the Week and By Friday I Want to Die.
5) True Life: I Wake Up In the Middle of the Night Thinking I've Just Been Called On
6) True Life: My Classmate is Russian and Wears Fur to Class
7) The Law School Library: Where All Your Wildest Dreams Come True (At Least While I'm Napping)
8)True Life: I Never Knew a Mormon 'til I Went to Law School

And recently, we've had some more pretty good one liners from our professors. They might just take the cake.

1) You're not stupid, you're ignorant.
2) You're lucky I'm not currently exercising my second amendment right.
3) If you can't identify the issues, the dental school is over there.
4) Well, I guess actually F$%#ING the draft might be illegal. Not entirely sure how you'd do that.
5) The secret to writing a good multiple choice exam is to write the wrong answers so that they prey on the confusion that lives in the students mind. Muwahaha!
6) Shut up and go sit the F$%# down.
7) Oh my goodness! My phone went off. That's so weird. Usually no one ever calls me. Except Nate. Sometimes Nate texts me. I'm so popular!
8) ‎I'd like to say she landed on her feet but really, she landed on her back, in playboy.
9) This isn't a restatement of anything, this is intellectual masturbation.
10) ‎Because no one has ever been to a carnival and been sexually attracted to someone that works there.
11) How exactly do you service a Howdy Doody?
12) Can you make it real to me? Your response wasn't entirely intellectual.
13) We have a case here where people are literally SHACKING up!
14) I've really enjoyed having you all this semester. Well....maybe not all of you (pats student on the head).
15) I sometimes wonder today, about today.
16) ‎My throats a little sore, and what happened to my arm? It's gone.

Dancing Away With My Heart

Oh. You've heard this song already? Um. No. You haven't.

I'm back with my weekly Tuesday Tunes Day and this week is someone who is LITERALLY dancing away with my heart (Lame. I know.) I'm sure as most of you are aware, I am a Twitter FREAK, and this can be (sometimes) the way I find my new music. But unfortunately for you, I can't reveal all my tactics. Anyway, I tend to follow my "acoustic boys" and their fellow music mates to see what they're up to and to see if I can find anything I like. But recently, I've become kind of a big deal (pause for applause). You see.....instead of ME finding them, THEY'VE been finding me. It's really social media marketing at its finest. And to be honest with you, it gets my entrepreneurial juices flowin' through the roof! Ew. (Joe George would be so proud.)

Anywho, this week's videos are by a guy named Brett Young. He requested to follow me a couple weeks ago and asked that I listen to his music. So naturally, I did. Duh. (I'll have you know, though, that I listen to their music BEFORE I let them follow me. I can't just have any old hat thinking he's the bomb.com.) What got me excited about Brett, though, is that he's played with a lot of my acoustic boys! Jason Reeves, Tyrone Wells, Tyler Hilton, just to name a few.... Also, come to find out, Brett played baseball in college until he had a career-ending injury. Now I know I don't have to tell you how I feel about this......

ANYWAY......Brett is great! So is Katie Ohh who sings with him on a couple songs. They did a remake of Lady Antebellum's "Dancing Away With My Heart," and dare I might say I actually like it BETTER than Lady A's version (sorry guys). I've probably listened to it a hundred times by now and it still gives me goose bumps. So, for today, you get one of Brett's "unreleased" songs AND his version of "Dancing Away With My Heart" with Katie Ohh. You can find Brett's new acoustic album on iTunes, and since I love you all so much, I of course gave you the link ;)

ENJOY MY DEARS!

JS

Brett Young and Katie Ohh--"Dancing Away With My Heart"

Brett Young--"Yours To Hold"

This is the link to my favorite song of Brett's on iTunes, it's called "In Love Alone."

You should also check out "Someday."

Okay I'm done.

Lyrics for "In Love Alone"(Because I love them so much):
You've been doing fine
You're getting on with life
And making sure that I
Can't get inside your mind
'Cause nothing can be gained by living in yesterday

But I'm falling apart
I'm lying in the dark and wondering how to start
To mend a broken heart
'Cause everything was lost the day you went away, yeah

Now there's nothing left that's real
I've forgotten how to feel
When I'm outside of your arms
Because you're all I've ever known
But you've been moving on
And remaining strong
It's like you're happy on your own
I guess I'll be in love alone

There's nobody to blame
If love is just a game and you refuse to play
I guess I'll be okay
'Cause life will still go on
Even when you're gone, yeah
But you're everything to me
You change the way I breathe
You're all that I can see
And if it's meant to be
This love that I still keep will bring you back to me, yeah

Now there's nothing left that's real
And I've forgotten how to feel
When I'm outside of your arms
Because you're all I've ever known
But you've been moving on
And remaining strong
It's like you're happy on your own
I guess I'll be in love alone

I'm sorry if I gave too much
'Cause you told me from the start
That you didn't plan
To fall in love
Ohhh

Now there's nothing left that's real
I've forgotten how to feel
When I'm outside of your arms
Because you're all I've ever known
But you've been moving on
And remaining strong
It's like you're happy on your own
I guess I'll be in love alone
In love alone
In love alone
In love alone

Everything But You

Jesus hell. Where do I start?

I've been on quite a rock music kick lately (for no particular reason......maybe...). Anywho, my second week of studying for finals has brought me back to my roots. Jason Aldean, Brantley Gilbert (who actually WRITES for Jason Aldean--you'd know this if you knew anything), and one of my new favorite boys, Casey James, have been BLASTING out my windows (figuratively AND literally. Gonna need some new speakers for my comp......but that's neither here nor there.) I really like when I get back into my country goodness. It just feels so down home and right to the core, you can't help but love it :)

So in the midst of my attempt at "studying" for finals, I have also been on some of my crazy searches for some new good tunes. Sometimes it's easy. Sometimes it's not. Either way, everyone is always like "Oh my gosh! Where did you find this stuff?" Obviously I can't tell them my secret. OBVIOUSLY.

Anyway, since my new playlist is just so kicka**, I decided to give you more than one song today. And by more than one, I mean five. (I wish you could see my face.)

ENJOY MY LOVELY LITTLE LADS!!!!

JS

P.S. If you guys have already heard these I will just apologize in advance. I have been living under a rock. A very large, heavy rock. Whatever.

Kip Moore--"Crazy One More Time"

Aaron Lewis--"Tangled Up In You"

Casey James--"Undone"

Logan Mize--"Do You Wanna Be With Me"
(It's so freaking awesome there's not even a video for it! WHOA!)
http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/do-you-wanna-be-with-me/id339639746?i=339640307

And last but not least, another Kip Moore song--"Everything But You"

One more just for fun? OKAY GREAT!

Brantley Gilbert--"You Don't Know Her Like I Do"
Now I know what you're thinking, "But Jenny....this song is already on the radio. I've heard this before." And while that may or may not be true, it's still not YOUR song. It's MINE. So get over it. I always do.

Dream Chasers

I got the best compliment the other day. Totally not being full of myself either. I'm being 100% FOR SERIOUS.

While I was in the middle of another one of my wild and crazy life rants, dropping F-bombs like it was nobody's business, and making myself giggle all the while, one of my friends said: "Ya know....you haven't changed one bit!" Now....for some people....this might make them stop and reconsider what they're doing with their lives. But for me, for right now, it just seemed perfect :)

Jenny's been learning some life lessons lately. Mainly, what it's like to grow up and really become who you are. Actually.....now that I mention it.....that has been my new favorite quote:

"It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are."
--E.E. Cummings

Cheesy? Yes. Dumb? Absolutely not. It seems most of us get lost on this crazy, crazy ride and forget why we're really here in the first place. And what I've been reminded of lately, is why I'm here in the first place: to make my wildest dreams come true (: What I've also been reminded of lately, is that all it takes is for someone to believe in you. And I guess while I was out here doing all this so called "chasing," I had forgotten to believe in myself. A couple of speed bumps, a couple of Reese's McFlurries, and a fewww too many cases later (and no, I'm not talking about law school).....I think I'm back on track. It hit me while I was driving the other day (not literally HIT) how many amazing people I have in my life and how many of those amazing people believe in me. In ME. Smartass, ridiculous, outright annoying, crazy, obsessive, musically absorbed, and energetically charged ME. And you know what? That might just be the coolest thing ever.

So now that I've realized there really ARE people out there that support who I am and what I'm doing, I've been using it as my little motivational tool for studying. And guess what? Now I only have 3 finals left between me and summer and I'm feelin' like a rockstar! And now that I feel so fantastical, I would like to remind you how fantastical you are too. So....any words of wisdom for my fellow dream chasers out there? Youuuuu betcha.

Rule #1: Stick to your guns.
Rule #2: Never EVER stop chasing what you want in life.
Rule #3: Don't ever let someone talk you out of you (if that makes sense).
And Rule #4: Never, not for ONE single second, forget that there's someone out there who believes in you.
Because at the end of the day, that ONE, is all that it takes.

Now.........I shall leave you with my latest "dream chasing" song. I actually got told the other day that this is "SO a Jenny song." (I had no idea what that meant until I started doing my "Jenny" dance to the beat. Eek!)

ENJOY!

JS

Mat Kearney--"Sooner or Later"

Lyrics:

We're all standing with our backs against the wall
Sooner or later
Waiting on a phone that never calls, at all
Heartbreak comes strollin' in like a storm
Sooner or later
Trying to swim but you're sinking like a stone,  alone

And I can feel the fire in the night
Waiting here
Baby it's like we're
Walking on a wire thru the fear
Take my hand
We'll get there

Sooner or later
I swear we're gonna make it, we're gonna make it
Sooner or later
I swear we're gonna make it, we're gonna make it
We'll keep running 'til we get our fill
I'll keep chasing it I always will
Sooner or later I swear
We'll make it there
Sooner than later
Sooner or later

We're all waiting on dream that's hard to own
Sooner or later
Trying to feel the high without the low, you know

You can feel the fire in the night
Lying here
Baby it's like we're
Walking on a wire thru the fear
Take my hand
We'll get there

Sooner or later
I swear we're gonna make it, we're gonna make it
Sooner or later
I swear we're gonna make it, we're gonna make it
We'll keep running 'til we get our fill
I'll keep chasing it I always will
Sooner or later I swear
We'll make it there
Sooner than later
Sooner or later

The fear inside the hills we've climbed
The tears this side of heaven
All these dreams inside of me
I swear we're gonna get there
Sooner or later
We're gonna make it......

Tuesday Tunes Day!

Dave Barnes. Has been flying under my radar. But my man is back!

I found this single last week on iTunes and I was EXTREMELY upset with myself that I was not aware of it. But, GREAT news. He has a new album coming out March 13th!!!! Yeeeee haw!!!!! I love me some Dave Barnes. He is what I like to call one of "my boys." Also on that list would be Matt Wertz, Jason Reeves, Corey Crowder.....you get the point. Anywho, today's song is called "White Flag." It's super catchy and upbeat and I just like the lyrics! How wonderful. Mmkay.

ENJOY!

Perfect Kiss

So.....Today is Tuesday! And I got sick of calling it Tuesday Tunes Day so today it's called Perfect Kiss. Because everyone wants one. Right?

On a more serious note, today's song is "Perfect Kiss" by Marie Hines and I gotta tell ya....I have just been eatin'. this. up. I love love LOVE it! Super cute. Super fun. And super good. So you'll super like it. Unless you don't. In which case.....I don't care.

I made this awesome playlist last week (it could very well be one of my best EVER) and since I love it so much, I'm going to give you THREE songs today! Yes. I said three. I'm the kind of person that really appreciates acoustic music and someone who can just sing their heart out without all the bells and whistles. So I have three wonderful women today that are all a little different, but they sure do sound perdy :)

I hope you likey! (:

JS

(P.S. You'll have to pardon the lovey dovey-ness of these songs as well. I'd say sorry but I'm really not.)

Tuesday Tunes Day!

It's TUESDAY! And it's also Valentine's Day! What? Ew.

In honor of this ridiculously sappy holiday (HyVee has been bursting with red velvet cupcakes for weeks! Trust me--I would know.) I think it's only appropriate to pick a similarly sappy song for today. SO! From one of my guilty pleasures, The Twilight Series (click out of here now if you're "above" this because I can assure you my friend, I, am above YOU--BOOM!), today's song is "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri. I know the entire world has already heard this song, but I just saw the music video last night and loveddddddd it. I'm a sucker for candles.

P.S. If anyone is as big of a Twilight freak as me, you'll recognize the house Christina is singing in as the one from the movie. Justtttttt sayin.'

P.P.S. I think the actual wedding in this movie is GORGEOUS.

P.P.P.S. (Can you do that?) Yes. I cried. Get over it.

Anywho....without further delay, here is this week's video! I hope you all have a wonderfully romantic sappy rose and chocolate filled holiday with that someone special! (Or maybe just your couch.)

Tuesday Tunes Day!

Last week was an interesting one to say the least (probably more along the lines of humbling). So this week's post will be just as interesting. Or not.

Nathan Angelo---Love him. First heard him on One Tree Hill back in the day. Good news: He's still just as awesome. This week's song is "Born to Love You." Pretty sure I don't need to explain it. I posted the video of the acoustic version because I think it's more romantic (both versions are available on iTunes for those of you wondering.)

Oh. And to go along with this wonderfully sappy song of mine, I also found a quote that pretty much sums up my life at this current hour. It's a good one. Feel free to use and abuse it :)

Enjoy my friends!

JS

"Our journey as human beings is not about following a pre-ordained path, but about creating that path. Life rarely makes any more sense when things are done 'in order.' Life makes sense when we are centered in our hearts and we let go of resisting how our unique journey needs to unfold in its own beautifully unruly way."

"Born To Love You" by Nathan Angelo

Lyrics:
Some people walk around forever
Don't even know why they came
I've been the fool now I know better
But it all made sense
When I saw your face

I was born to love you
The one thing I just can't live without
Born to satisfy your needs
I'm alive to hold you
The only man that you ever dreamed about
Might take forever for you to see
I was born to love you baby, whoa
I was born to love you baby, whoa
I can put the pen down to the paper
And some melodies put down to tape
I'll get it right sooner or later
'Cause I hear the perfect song
Every time I see your face

I was born to love you
The one thing I just can't live without
Born to satisfy your needs
I'm alive to hold you
The only man that you ever dreamed about
Might take forever for you to see
I was born to love you baby, whoa
I've been searching most of my life to find
Just why I'm breathing
I never thought that I would see
But you found me right in the nick of time
And now my life's worth living
I saw your face now I believe

I was born to love you
The one thing I just can't live without
Born to satisfy your needs, yeah
I'm alive to hold you
The only man that you ever dreamed about
Might take forever for you to see
I was born to love you baby, whoa
I was born to love you baby, whoa

So many nights alone, yeah
I was born for you

Warrior Dash Nebraska

Well this could get interesting.

And I quote: "This is going to be the body beating drinking party of the century." You heard it my friends. $hit's 'bout to get crazy.

What is the Warrior Dash you might ask? Well....according to the website it's 3.3 hellish miles with 12 different obstacles along the way. Obstacles? Pshhh. I know what you're thinking. But let's get serious here. Obstable #1.....barricades and barbed wire. Obstacle #2......fire. Ummm??? Yes. You do have to sign a waiver. (I could see it in your eyes).

After finding out about this crazy day of shannigans, I immediately rallied the troops. What we came up with was 6 crazy S.O.B.s all looking to kick some a$$ and have a good time. And a good time my friends.....is exactly what we shall have. If you're looking for us on June 9, you can find us under our team name: the Blonde Bombshells. The three that aren't blonde are the bombs. The other three are...well....you know.

Tuesday Tunes Day!

It's Tuesday. My brain hurts. And I'm gonna make this short and sweet.

I found this band a couple weeks ago, Mariannas Trench, and I just think they're the bomb.com. After sharing this song with one of my friends, she-who-shall-not-be-named (*cough*MAJ*cough*cough) said they sound like the Backstreet Boys. I'm not sure if she ever LISTENED to the Backstreet Boys, but that's clearly not the case. Anywho, this song is ridiculously catchy and I will continue to dance to it in the shower every morning while getting ready. It would be wonderful if you would do the same.

Today's song is "Fallout" by Mariannas Trench. I also put one of their slower songs on here as well because I. Just. Love. Them.

ENJOY!

They Say Life's Not A Love Song....I Think Everybody's All Wrong

I have epically failed at life. Well....not really. Just blogging. But who really cares.

ANYWAY......It's Tuesdayyyyyyyyy!!! I figured I should share my newest obsession because then you can jam out in your car and be as cool as me (or close to it). I found this song on iTunes last week and it has been on repeat ever since. If you don't think "We Got Us" by Canaan Smith is the cutest song ever, you can click out of here and never come back. That would be wonderful.

Since this song needs NO introduction, I'll just get on with it! Hope you likey!

P.S. The guitar intro sounds like a Keith Urban song and we all know how I feel about Keith......mmmmmm.....

Lyrics:

Here we are making all our big plans
Jumping, way into the deep end
Hey girl why we don’t just leave tonight
Pack it up drive until the road ends
Feels like this can be the moment
We’ve been waiting on all our lives
We know we’re ready
It may sound crazy

'Cause we got no money
Nothing of our own honey
Got your daddy all worried
'Cause times are tough
We got love, baby
It don't sound like much maybe
There ain’t way that’s not enough
'Cause we got us

They say life’s not a love song
I think everybody’s all wrong
So far, forever sounds good to me
We've got California moonlight
Enough gas to make it to the sunrise
And two hearts believing that's all we'd need
Nothing here’s missing
This is what I call living

'Cause we got no money
Nothing of our own honey
Got your daddy all worried
'Cause times are tough
We got love baby
It don't sound like much maybe
But there ain’t way that’s not enough
We got us

Oh, we've come too far to turn around
Nothing can stop us, not now
Someday we're gonna laugh
At the way things used to be

When we had no money
Nothing of our own honey
We had your daddy all worried
'Cause times were tough
We got love, baby
It don't sound like much maybe
There ain't no way that's not enough
'Cause we got us
